Our long-standing colleagues are an essential part of BLOCK. Over the decades, they have contributed their expertise and helped shape our culture of togetherness.

On July 1, 1980, Petra Schmidt began her career with us. Her entry was as direct as it gets: she rode past the company premises on her bicycle and asked about job opportunities. After working in winding, assembly and shipping, she found her place in the final assembly of small transformers – where her attention to detail continues to impress. What matters most to her: “The colleagues and the teamwork.”

On August 1, 1985, Ingo Ahrens and Jörg Pointmayer started their apprenticeships together as industrial clerks in sales. Even during their time in the military, they stayed in touch. Today, Ingo Ahrens manages production planning, while Jörg Pointmayer works in cost calculation. “We work in different areas, but we have walked this path together from the very beginning,” says Ahrens. Their advice to our apprentices: “Ask when you are unsure – and take initiative. At BLOCK, those who get involved will find all paths open to them.”

Also in 1985, Frank Clasen began his apprenticeship as an electronics technician for energy systems. After graduating and further qualifying as a certified master technician, he spent several years mentoring our electronics apprentices. Since 2000, he has also shared his expertise on the examination board for mechatronics technicians. Over the course of his career, Frank Clasen has held various roles in our transformer development and even filed two patents: “That was a highlight of my career.”

At a celebratory gathering, Wolfgang Reichelt expressed heartfelt thanks to our honorees for their long-standing loyalty, outstanding expertise and their important contribution to the sustainable success of our company.
