As a member of the Bienenfreunde Verden (Bee Friends Verden) association, we joined forces with other dedicated beekeepers from the region to support a honey donation for the Verden Food Bank (Verdener Tafel e. V.).
More than 100 jars of regionally produced honey were collected, a particularly welcome addition to the food bank’s offerings during the colder months.
The initiative was launched and coordinated by Hendrik Schmidt, Head of our Filter Production department. He is a member of the BLOCK Bee Team and also serves as Vice Chairman of the Bienenfreunde Verden association. In this role, he organized the collaboration among the participating beekeepers as well as the handover of the donation on December 15, 2025, as a tangible sign of lived solidarity.
All donated honey comes exclusively from members of Bienenfreunde Verden and the association’s own bee colonies, which are also used to train new young beekeepers. As a network of regional beekeepers, the association is committed to knowledge sharing and the promotion of beekeeping in the region.
The donated jars of honey are a concrete result of this collaboration and add a durable product to the Verden Food Bank’s assortment – one that can be easily passed on to those in need.
