We want you to feel comfortable with regards to how we deal with your personal data, so this statement is completely transparent about what happens with the data concerned and the security measures we take. Personal data is any data that relates to you personally, such as your name, e-mail address, or user behavior. The statement also contains information about your statutory rights in relation to the processing of this data.
1. Controller and Data Protection Officer

You can contact our Data Protection Officer by e-mail at email@example.com.
2. Visiting the website
If you use our website purely for informational purposes, i.e. you only visit our website and do not provide us with any other information, we only collect the data that your browser transmits to the web server (e.g. IP address, date and time of the request and your browser’s language and version).
This data is used for technical purposes on the web server for a limited period for the length of time that you use the website. Processing of the data is necessary in order to guarantee ongoing operation of our website and in order to optimize our web presence, and this takes place based on Article 6 paragraph 1 clause 1 (f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
3. Making contact
When you make contact with us using our contact forms (or the forms for returns or trade fair vouchers) or directly via e-mail, the data communicated by you (e.g. surname, first name, company name, e-mail address and message content) is transmitted to us and is stored by us. The data is processed exclusively for the specific purpose of responding to your query or processing your case. Article 6 paragraph 1 clause 1 (f) GDPR provides the legal basis for processing your personal data. We have a legitimate interest in processing and responding to your matter for the specific purpose as a result of the contact made by you.
The contact is made on a voluntary basis. Any failure to provide the relevant data means that we will be unable to process your query.
We will only store your personal data for as long as this is necessary for the designated purpose of processing the query following the contact made by you, or for as long as is stipulated in order to comply with the statutory retention periods.
4. Newsletters/electronic advertising
If you wish to obtain the newsletter and/or information regarding our products and services as offered on the website by e-mail, then we need an e-mail address from you, along with information which authorizes us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and have agreed to receive the newsletter and/or the promotional material. Following your registration, we will save your IP address and the date and time of your registration. This is a safeguard for us in the event that a third party misuses your e-mail address and subscribes to our newsletter without your knowledge. We will not collect any further data in this regard. We will use this data exclusively for the purposes of sending the information requested, and will not forward it to third parties.
The data entered into the registration form is processed for the purposes of advertising and of sending the newsletter based on your consent (Article 6 paragraph 1 (a) GDPR). You may at any time withdraw the consent provided to store the data, e-mail address, and for use of this in order to send advertising and/or the newsletter, for instance via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter or our e-mails. The legitimacy of the data processing operations that have already taken place remains unaffected by this withdrawal.
The data stored by us for the purposes of obtaining the newsletter and/or for advertising will be stored by us until you unsubscribe and will be erased once the newsletter has been canceled. Any data that has been stored by us for other purposes (e.g. for processing a contract) will remain unaffected by this.
5. Data processors
We use external service providers based on Article 28 GDPR within the scope of logistics services and in order to support internal administrative and IT processes, e.g. for hosting and/or administration and maintenance of the IT systems. These providers have been carefully selected and appointed by us, are bound by our instructions, and are subject to regular checks. The information transmitted may also be forwarded to the offices and departments responsible within our company so that the matter can be processed in a productive manner.
Our website uses individual files known as cookies. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and saved by your browser, if the facility to save cookies is activated in your browser. Cookies cannot be directly linked to any specific person and do not contain any personal data. Cookies do no damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. A distinction is made between "transient" cookies and "persistent" cookies as explained below.
Transient cookies are deleted automatically when you close the browser. They include session cookies in particular. These save a so-called session ID, which allows various requests from your browser to be assigned to the same session. This means your computer can be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log off or close the browser.
Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a set period of time, which can differ from cookie to cookie. You can delete cookies at any time using the security settings for your browser.
The legal basis for processing cookies and related personal; data is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 point f GDPR (legitimate interest). These serve our legitimate interest by making our offer more user-friendly, effective, and secure.
You can configure your browser setting as you wish and, for example, refuse to accept all or some cookies if you do not want cookies to be saved on your computer. Cookies already saved can also be deleted via your browser’s system settings. Please note that deactivation or deletion of cookies may mean you are unable to use all the functions of this website.
7. Social media plug-ins
We currently use social media plug-ins for the social networks Facebook, LinkedIn, and XING. You can identify the provider of the respective plug-in from its logo on the button concerned. We offer this option to interact with social networks and other users in order to improve our Internet offer; the legal basis for the integration of plug-ins is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 point f GDPR.
We use "Shariff" in order to integrate these plug-ins. Shariff prevents social network plug-ins automatically creating a connection to the servers of social networks when you visit our websites that feature this kind of social network plug-in. This means no personal data is ever forwarded to providers of plug-ins when you visit our site. The plug-in provider is only informed that you have called up the relevant website from our online offer if you click, and therefore activate, the "Share" button. If you are already signed in to Facebook, Facebook ensures this happens directly. With LinkedIn and XING – and providing you are signed in to the respective user account – you are taken to your user account in a separate browser window and are able to share the published electronic content made available on our website, and add a comment too. With Facebook and LinkedIn, this information is also assigned to your user account there.
Please note that we neither have any influence on the data gathered or the data processing procedures involved nor any knowledge of the content of the transferred (personal) data or how it is used by Facebook, LinkedIn, and XING. We also do not have any information regarding deletion by the plug-in providers of the data gathered.
Here are the addresses of the respective plug-in providers along with URLs for sites outlining their data protection guidelines:
