Selecting the right uninterruptible power supply (UPS) and energy storage solution often involves significant engineering effort. Power requirements, backup time, installation space, and industry-specific requirements must all be considered early in the project planning phase.
With the intelligent BLOCK UPS Selector, you can quickly and easily identify the ideal combination of UPS and batteries for your specific application. After entering just a few parameters, such as connected loads, power demand, backup time, and reserves, you will receive suitable product recommendations from the BLOCK standard portfolio within seconds.

Designed for a wide range of applications, the BLOCK UPS Selector supports engineers, system integrators, and operators in designing power supply solutions for industries such as:
- Solar and energy technology
- Mechanical and system engineering
- Intralogistics
- Industrial automation
The selector is also suitable for any application requiring a reliable and uninterrupted power supply. By providing a fast and transparent product selection process, it significantly reduces engineering and planning effort.
To ensure a stable energy infrastructure, VDE-AR-N 4110 defines the requirements for an auxiliary power supply that operates independently of the grid voltage. In the event of a grid failure, communication, protection, and auxiliary systems must remain operational for a minimum of eight hours.
The sizing of UPS and battery storage solutions must also comply with the requirements of the respective utility. These requirements are typically defined in applicable utility connection requirements and grid codes. In Germany, for example, the relevant criteria are specified in the Technical Connection Conditions (TAB).
The BLOCK UPS Selector supports the sizing of the appropriate auxiliary power supply solution and allows results to be filtered for modular or particularly space-saving designs.
For the approval of remote monitoring and control systems or Power Plant Controllers (PPCs), documentation of the auxiliary power supply is often required. The BLOCK UPS Selector automatically generates a calculation report containing all relevant technical data for the selected UPS and battery combination. This simplifies system design, accelerates approval and coordination processes, and supports documentation requirements for grid operators, inspectors, and customers.
Battery sizing is based on a usable battery capacity of 80 %. This approach already accounts for deep-discharge protection and ensures practical, real-world system sizing.
